An original oil painting by Gill Watkiss.
Gill focuses on the strong and often bleak atmosphere of time and weather in West Penwith. The people in her work are very much about their daily activities in the context of each other and the landscape. Collectible and highly sought after, Gill stands out as one of the most iconic female artists in Cornwall. A retrospective of twenty years of her work was held at The Newlyn Art Gallery in 1990-1 and her paintings and sketches are in collections worldwide - The East and West Ridings of Yorkshire, Leicestershire Education Committee, Birmingham University and Vassar College in New York all hold examples of her work.
